Lucas Vidana
Lucas Vidana has painted his whole life.
Vidana was born in Tacoma, Washington and began painting very young. He was first introduced to painting by his Grandfather who was a painter from Cuba and later Miami. Later when Vidana was only 15 years old he apprenticed with his neighbor who was an ad designer for fashion magazines in the 40's and 50's. Since then Lucas has produced art every day.Currently He uses applications such as screenprinting, Acrylic Paint, Vintage Materials, and bonding agents.Creating depth in hiw by layering his mediums.
Lucas Vidana's concept for his work is very different, to create paintings the are very visible from a far. But also being filled with detail when upclose, the writing between the lines.
Vidana credits his artistic sensibilities to a history of artists in his family. His Great-Grandfather was a photographer from Cuba who traveled the world to photograph landmarks for postcards that he later hand colored and used for postcards in the 1920's. His Grandfather worked in oils and still lifes.
Lucas Vidana has shown art in Gallerys in Seattle, Bellingham, Olympia, Tacoma, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, San Diego, and New York.He also is commenly interviewed for publications and his paintings are used for cover art too.
Currently a local in Seattle's "Capitol Hill District"
Vidana has created two Public Murals funded by Washington State. Enjoy.
